East Providence Mayor Bruce Rogers Announces Office Hours
East Providence Mayor Bruce Rogers, Assistant Mayor Tommy Rose and Councilwoman Katie Kleyla will be holding weekly office hours at City Hall.
“City Hall is the people’s building and as their Council our charge is to do the people’s business. In order to know what our constituents expect from us or how they would like to see us vote on any given matter it’s important to hear from them directly,” Rogers said in a news release. “We want to make that easier and so in addition to email, letter writing and phone calls, we have also set up open office hours.”
The hours are:
Mayor Rogers (Ward 2): Tuesdays from 9am-1pm; Thursdays from 5-7:30pm
Assistant Mayor Rose (Ward 3): Mondays from 4-6pm; Thursdays from 9-11am
Councilwoman Kleyla (Ward 1): Wednesdays from 4-7pm

Great idea by the Mayor.
Remember though that in a city manager form of govenmnet, our City Charter requires no administrative interferrence from elected officials.
There has to be that thin line that should not be crossed.
The trick is to include the CM and his staff in the decisions making process to as not to have city employees reporting to two bosses at conflicting times and violate the tenents oif the Charter that 90% of us want preserved.
Good luck with this project, and cooperation will be the key to its success.

East Providence police officer using cruiser to drop off and pick up daughter from Orlo Avenue school. Is this action against policy? Wish I had free transportation!
