3 Men Face Weapons Charges
A disturbance over loud noise in the parking lot of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center on Saturday, Sept. 29, results in East Providence police charges against a neighbor and two men from Taunton.
An East Providence man and two Taunton, Mass., men face weapons charges after an altercation in the parking lot of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center on Grosvenor Avenue Saturday evening, Sept. 29.
Dean R. Jefferson, 41, of 101 Apulia St.; Steven Gravel, 24, of Taunton, and Patrick Penha, 24, of Taunton were charged after a disturbance caused reportedly by loud music being played in the parking lot. Jefferson’s home sits next to the parking lot.
Jefferson allegedly waved a pipe at Gravel and Penha when he confronted them about the noise.
Penha allegedly went to a car in the lot and pulled out a bat.
Gravel allegedly pulled from his pocket a folding knife with a 3 ½-inch blade.
No one was struck, and the incident was quelled quickly by police officers, according to the report.
Jefferson and Penha also face disorderly conduct charges, according to East Providence police.
Gravel also faces a marijuana possession charge after police found 3 grams of the illegal substance on him.

Welcome to East Providence. I just wrote a post about all the out of towners at Bay View and nothing is done about that either. This city does not care about it's residents!

Listen, at 41 if you aren't smart enough to know not to bring a pipe with you to confront " out of state punks" then you too deserve to get arrested. How about just calling the police and letting the professionals handle the job.

Well at least he had a set big enough to confront them. Instead of hiding inside waiting for the professionals. Sometimes the people are afraid to get involved with the "pros" so we take care of it ourselves. And if we're really protected by the second amendment to bare arms, i dont see why someone got arrested for NOT using, but carying a pipe. Anything can be turned into a weapon, a rock, an old mans cane. Until someone commits an act of violance he should be able to walk around with anything besides the obvious, granade, machine gun, bomb, high powered weapons, etc... Do u really think the professionals use their god-given brain, or just go by the book?

I can just feel the brain power in these posts. Do you think what you read is exactly what happened or a very, very short attempt at a summary?
