5 Things to Know About This Week

Food pantry open; 'candidates' night'; PCD open house; 'almost-free rabies clinic'; fall fashion show.

 

Here are five things you may want to know about this week in East Providence.

  1. The St. Francis Xavier Food Pantry, 81 North Carpenter St., is open Monday, Oct. 22, from 9:30 to 11:20 am and again at 6 to 7:30 pm; bring a valid government ID.
  2. Newman Congregational Church, 100 Newman Ave., Rumford, offers an “East Providence candidates’ night” on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 pm. City council and legislative candidates from Districts 63 and 65 will be there.
  3. Providence Country Day School offers an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 am at its 660 Waterman Ave. campus in East Providence.
  4. Thee RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) chapters will host their annual “Almost Free Rabies Clinic” on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 am to 2 pm at the RISPCA auditorium, 186 Amaral St., Riverside. Get a rabies vaccination for your dog, cat, or ferret with a donation of 5 cans of non-perishable (human) food,
  5. Columbiettes #3623 hosts the second annual Fall Fashion Show & Ladies Luncheon on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 1 to 4 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3200 Pawtucket Ave. Fall fashions from the Dress Barn with raffles.
