5 Things to Know About This Week

East Providence School Committee meets; candidates for school board gather at Riverside library; Watchemoket Square Day is Saturday.

 

Here are five things you should know about for this week in East Providence.

  1. The East Providence School Committee meets for its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers in City Hall.
  2. A farmers’ market runs at 20 Newman Ave. in Rumford on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 3 to 6 pm.
  3. Paul Masse Chevrolet at 111 Taunton Ave. hosts a Women’s Car Care Seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 10, starting at 5:45 pm; men can attend, too.
  4. The East Providence Parent Advisory Committee for Special Education hosts a session on Wednesday, Oct. 10 where you can “Meet the Candidates” running for the East Providence School Committee. It runs from 6 to 8 pm at the Riverside Branch Library, 475 Bullocks Point Ave.
  5. The second annual Watchemoket Square Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, starting at 9 am with a parade from City Hall followed by a classic car show, live music, activities for kids, a walking history tour given by the East Providence Historical Society, and special offers and dining throughout the day at square restaurants.
