Assault With Halloween Decoration
East Providence police charge a Jenks Street man for striking a man who came onto his property with a Halloween decoration.
An East Providence man, 50, was charged with assault last Saturday, Oct. 27, after he struck a Seekonk man with a Halloween decoration.
Police described the incident as a continuing dispute between neighbors.
Domingo Domingues Sr., of 51 Jenks St., allegedly struck John K. Sousa, 44, after Sousa walked onto his property and asked that a car on Jenks Street be moved. Sousa was visiting a family member who lives next door to Domingues.
Domingues told police that he felt threatened by Sousa because of an incident in September that involved Sousa and two other relatives.
Domingues admitted to police that he struck Sousa with some type of stick. Sousa told police he wanted to prosecute.
Sousa also was charged -- with willful trespassing for wandering onto Domingues’ property, police said.
