Catholic Parish Gets New Pastor
The Rev. Dean P. Perri was installed on Sunday, Feb. 24, as the new pastor at Our Lady of Loreto Church in East Providence.
Our Lady of Loreto Church in East Providence has a new pastor.
The Rev. Dean P. Perri was installed by The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, at a Pastor Installation Mass on Sunday, Feb. 24.
Father Perri succeeds Father Stanley Nakowicz, who died unexpectedly last year.
The Rev. Perri has been the administrator of St. Casimir in Providence and the diocesan assistant chancellor and judge on the diocesan Marriage Tribunal since 2011. He studied at the Pontifical North American College in Rome in Canon Law from 2008 to 2011.
He was the assistant pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and chaplain at Roger Williams University, both in in Bristol, from 2005 to 2008. Ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Robert Mulvee in 2002, he was assigned first to St. Ann in Providence as assistant pastor.
The Rev. Perri studied for the priesthood at St. John’s Seminary in Boston and the Pontifical North American College. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He attended Westerly High School.
