The special meeting of the East Providence City Council with the Waterfront District Commission scheduled for tonight, Jan. 23, has been postponed.

Jeanne Boyle, director of the city planning department, said the special meeting conflicted with the public hearing scheduled in Riverside Middle School to hear the recommendation to close Oldham Elementary School.

At least several of the city councilors planned to attend that hearing.

The meeting of the City Council with the waterfront commisson will be rescheduled, Boyle said. It was to have provided an overview on the waterfront district for the city councilors.
