Smh... How anyone could vote for those fools is beyond me. Apparently you people like our City in the shape it is in. Of course the above comment comes from someone who is too afraid to use their real name. So no wonder you support those two frauds.

Sore sport - don't think so LInda. Your attitude is clearly uninformed on good governing principles-EP is run by rookies and crooks at the present time. Recipe for disaster.

Agree with sea dog and Kevin. There a bunch of good ol boys. One rose is running a business from his residential house. And Bruce is a criminal. All it is is a popularity contest. They speak from both sides of there mouth!!!!

Clear evidence of the mindset/mentality in EP. Let's wait until we get the next downgrade on the city's performance. EP has become a slum.

I don't get it. I don't get it at all. When Rogers and Rose initially announced their candidacy I thought there is no way they could possibly be elected. One has a very recent, if not current, substance abuse issue. He works a couple days a week at a convenience store. (Wish I could make ends meet from working a couple days a week at a low paying job) The other is frankly not very smart and was barely employed. Both had very questionable associates. Then they were elected. I saw them fire Richard Brown without cause and pay him to sit at home. Also pay him handsomely when he was called to testify or tend to other city matters after his firing. They brought in Orlando Andreoni as city solicitor and acting city manager. I'm pretty sure I have never seen someone more in over their head than Andreoni. Clearly ill qualified to be a city manager. Rogers started realizing this man was a liability as time went on, but he was his guy. I watched Rose and Rogers at coucil meetings. Rogers started with a warrant for his arrest and talked about tow lists and name badges. All while substantive issues were ignored. Rose didn't speak. When he did I couldn't really understand what he was saying. When important, complicated budgetary issues, involving actuarials and financial projections were brought up, Rose was very clearly in over his head. I understand he may shovel your sidewalk for you. That's great, but you might as well elect my 13 year old neighbor.

Rogers not only arrested for shoplifting...but also was well known that he was involved with drug abuse, and bad check passing. How can anyone in their right mind vote for someone like this. Incredible stupidity??? Lack of knowledge of candidates??? Hoodwinked by taking for thuth what rogers says on face value (let's remember he will do and say anything to get elected...he was still telling people Middle School Sports would be saved when the cut had already been made by the Budget Commission. Thankfully there is plenty of time to ramp up the campaign for Helda Cunha before the November elections...

Pferd..2 words for you... Spell check. If you are going to refer to people as ignorant and stupid.. At the very least your rant should be spelt correctly. And why not use a real name while taking such shots at people. Be proud of your rant... Own it.

SL..If you don't know all the facts and the entire story you shouldn't make such an ignorant comment. The team of (not kids) but young adults was left with a very capable coaching staff. While you have the right to comment anonimously you should grow a set. Obviously you want to see the city continue on its downward spiral. Thankfully we have the budget committee running things and not the drug abuser, thief, check bouncer and his buddy running this city...there may be hope yet.

Of all the people in East Providence these are the "best" choices? Very pathetic people... Stop voting for the name you see most on peoples lawn signs. Inform yourself or DON'T VOTE!

Ricky, certainly you have your opinion. Certainly you can disagree, however never tell anyone not to vote! I can also disagree with your opinion and I will tell you why....first I know our city is not in the best of shape. I also know unlike you and a few others on this site that this council did not cause this. I also am please the commission is here, not somewhere else. What I know is both Bruce and Tommy work endlessly and have spoken personally to many of the voters walking house to house. Every person likes to feel important and be heard. They respond,no phone call goes unanswered. You want to blast someone, blast the minority of the council....Conley going to save the state and Digioia abandons Riverside.....there goes your great choices.

It is about time that those who choose to use their 'real names' on these blogs stop campaigning to be nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor for their unparalleled courage. We will reserve that recognition for Seal Team Six.

The tradition of anonymous speech is older than the United States. Founders Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay wrote the Federalist Papers under the pseudonym "Publius ", and "the Federal Farmer" spoke up in rebuttal. The US Supreme Court has repeatedly recognized the rights to speak anonymously derived from the First Amendment.

If Mr. Oliver and others feel compelled to use their names, that is their right. It is equally the right of others to voice their opinions anonymously. It does not make those opinions any less valid, and it is consistent with the tradition of free political speech upon which our nation was founded.

Oh see I feel like it does make your opinion unimportant. How much can you really care about the topic if you are to much a coward to use your name. Any loud mouth blowhard. Can talk SH*T and hide behind a fake name because there are no consequences to their words.... Try owning your words and see how that works for you.
