Earlier Start School Start Times Slated for September

To save $500,000 a year in transportation costs, administrators reduced bus routes.

East Providence public school students will have to set their alarm clocks a bit earlier come fall. 

To save $500,000 a year in transportation costs, administrators reduced bus routes, according to a report school committee member Chrissy Rossi presented at Tuesday night's . Parents have complained of the new start times, she said, adding it's creating scheduling issues for some families.

School start times will begin Sept. 6 in 2012.

East Providence Public School Times

  • - 7:25 a.m. to 1:45p.m.
  • and - 7: 55 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
  • , , and elementary schools - 8:40 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • , , , elementary schools - 9:10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
