New-Look Website for Paddlers
Keith Gonsalves of East Providence, president of the Ten Mile River Watershed Council, suggest you take a look if you are into paddling.
Already the state’s most-visited website for paddling information, ExploreRI.org is sporting a new look, interactive trail maps, and 20 more water routes, according to Keith Gonsalves of East Providence, president of the Ten Mile River Watershed Council.
The update went live about two weeks ago, Gonsalves said. It was a multi-year effort by the Rhode Island Blueways Alliance and the Rhode Island Land Trust Council.
Volunteers and nonprofits developed this comprehensive resource, said Land Trust Council Director Rupert Friday. “We have two key goals: one, to showcase and promote the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts – places where people can take a walk or go paddling. And two, strengthen conservation of these resources.”
Among the new features:
- Interactive maps allow hikers to plan trip, A to Z
- Twenty more paddle trips offered
- Calendar featurs upcoming events and participatory activities
