Power Could be Out for Several Days

National Grid is terming the effort to restore electricity a 'multi-day' event.

Power could be out for several days in many parts of Rhod Island, including East Providence, according to National Grid, which is terming the Blizzard of '13 a "multi-day event" in the Providence Journal.

The blizzard struck transmission lines, according to National Grid.

More than 78 percent of East Providence was without power Saturday. People who want to find heat were being urged to go to the high school, which was being set up as a "warming shelter," according to Wayne Barnes, deputy EMA director for the city.
