They met at Theatre by the Sea.

This is the beginning of Gerri and Thomas Cabral's love story. The married couple have been together for 30 years after meeting at the Matunuck acting house. They visited Seven Stars Bakery in Rumford on Thursday to discuss plans for the theatre with business colleagues.

For Thomas, the connection with his wife was instant. He had few words to describe the interaction.

"It just happened," he said.

Gerri, an East Providence native, said she noticed how "calm" he was. His demeanor is a great "balance" to her personality. 

What's the secret to everlasting love? 

"A great friendship," she said.
