Van Flips Over on Martin Street

The white ADT Security Services van flipped over on Martin Street after striking a flatbed trailer parked along the street.

An ADT Security Services van flipped over on Martin Street in East Providence about 4:20 pm today, Dec 6, after it struck the trailer of a landscaping company parked on the north side of the street just west of Custer Street.

No one was injured. The driver reportedly refused medical treatment, according to a police officer on the scene.

Police and firefighters did not know the cause of the collision, which knocked the trailer up onto the curb. No one was in the Forvever Green truck pulling the trailer when the accident occurred.

George Cunha, of 23 Martin St., said the trailer was parked in front of his house all day. He was sitting in his living room when he heard the crash.

"I thought it was coming through the house," he said. "I called it in right away."

Several fire trucks and patrol vehicles responded to the crash site just east of South Broadway on Martin Street. The street was closed up to Custer Street and traffic was rerouted until the van could be turned over and towed away.

It's Custer Street. Not Cluster Street.
