What's Open and Closed on Presidents' Day in East Providence?

You can't send mail, but you can go to any Rhode Island DMV today.

 

Presidents' Day is a federal holiday. You may not be able to send mail through the U.S. Post Office or go to the library, but you can go to the DMV and most restaurants. See this list of what's open and closed in East Providence during the holiday.

Closed: 

  • Most banks
  • U.S Post Office branches
  • Schools - February vacation starts Monday, Feb. 20 and lasts until Friday, Feb. 24.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department (But only today. See here for a list of their February vacation offerings.)
  • City Hall - There are no municipal meetings scheduled today.
  • Public libraries throughout the city

Open:

  • All R.I. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) branches.
  • Some restaurants and businesses
  • Auto dealers - some are hosting sales on Route 44
