Joseph Silva Toy Drive Dinner- On Dec. 14, the Knights of Columbus will hold its annual Joseph Silva Memorial Toy Drive Dinner at 3200 Pawtucket Ave.

Need for the Toy Drive's help this Christmas is greater than in previous years, and organizers are asking for donations of toys, gift cards, and gift items. The event will benefit the Children's Friends Holiday Spirit of Giving Drive, helping children throughout RI and MA. The toy drive is also taking monetary donations at Gofundme.com. Contact Julie Silva at 401-434-3556.

Music for a cause.
Crossroads Family Center hosts a holiday concert to support the brown bag lunch program — which serves families in need in the community — at the center Saturday at 7 p.m. at Positive New Beginnings Holistic and Wellness Center - 877 Broadway East Providence.

ChoruS Dec. 7, 8 - The ChoruS of East Providence will perform at Saint Brendan Church under the direction of Beth Armstrong and accompanist Victoria Lambrozo in early December. The music of this season reflects a Mediterranean feeling, performing traditional selections as well as pieces that represent Spain, Portugal, France, & Italy!

Performances are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8 pm and Sunday Dec. 8 at 2 pm. Tickets for the Christmas Concerts are $15 - Seniors $12, and Children under 12 are free.

The ChoruS of East Providence is a proud supporter of the Saint Brendan Food Pantry! So please help support the Food Pantry at Saint Brendan by bringing a non-perishable food item to our concert.

Food Drive underway - Oxford Tavern is running a food drive through November to benefit East Bay Community Action's food pantry program. People interested in making a donation can drop food off at the tavern, 446 Waterman Ave., Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30 to 11 p.m.

Warming trend. Winter may not have us fully in its grip yet. Temperatures should steadily increase throughout the week, topping out in the low 50s Thursday and Friday. We're looking at clear skies for most of the week, though there is the possibility of showers later in the week.
