Council Tonight, Savings Books for Sale, Giving Tree

Council tonight - The EP City Council meets Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall, 145 Taunton Ave. They'll discuss, among otheritems on their agenda, a tax stabilization plan providing tax breaks on expansion or renovation of any existing facility in excess of $5,000,000.

Giving Tree - To help make the holidays brighter for children in need, BankRI has partnered with 12 local non-profits to provide gifts for the less fortunate this holiday season. 

Gifts collected at the Bank's giving trees at East Providence branches at 999 S Broadway and 195 Taunton Ave. will benefit East Bay Community Action Program.

Christmas Party - The Metacomet Country Club is hosting a Christmas party for smaller businesses and groups Dec. 21, 6 to 11 p.m. at the club, 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway. Cost to attend is $39.99 plus tax. Call 401-438-1122, ext. 101 to make reservations.
