Olympian Scholars, Little League Signups, School Com Tonight

Olympian Academics -  To coincide with Bay View Academy's history unit on ancient Greece, sixth grade girls each chose a god or goddess to learn more about, researched them and created a scrapbook or poster about their chose deity. On the day of the presentations, the girls became their god or goddess by dressing the part

Little League Signups
- Registration for the 2014 season of Rumford Little League is now open, and you can register online. New this season, player fees will be collected online using a MasterCard or Visa credit/debit card.

School Committee Tonight - 
The East Providence School Committee will meet Tuesday, Jan. 14 at The East Providence City Hall, 145 Taunton Ave., in Council Chambers. 

Among the items on their agenda, they'll discuss restoration of the High School's pool and a review of the department's crisis response plan.

ConCom Wednesday - 
The East Providence Conservation Commission meets Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m., at East Providence City Hall, 145 Taunton Ave., Room A. Among the items on their agenda, they'll discuss the boardwalk stairway, and moving the Planning Department. 

Flu Clinic - 
The Dept. of Health has strongly encouraged Cities and Towns to offer flu vaccination clinics are flu cases, in particular H1N1, are on the rise. Accordingly, the City will host a clinic on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 5-8 p.m. at the Senior Center. 

Everyone aged six months and older can receive a flu shot at this event.
The strain of flu that is most prominent this year is H1N1. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have observed that this strain is disproportionately impacting children, young adults, and middle-aged adults this year.
