Best-selling author and sports journalist Mike Lupica visits RI today for a book talk and signing of his all-new novel, “QB1” from 6-7pm at Barrington Books in the Barrington Shopping Plaza. Lupica, considered “the greatest sports writer for middle school readers,” turns his eye for sports drama to the gridiron with a story on Jake Cullen, a freshman quarterback playing under Friday Night Lights in football-obsessed Texas. The book is inspired by the real-life Manning family of quarterbacks. Lupica is a sports columnist for New York’s Daily News, a host of his own show on ESPN Radio, and a weekly member of ESPN’s The Sports Reporters.
