5 Things to Know About Today

Stormy and warm; theater fun at library; food pantry open; build LEGOs at library; borrow museum passes.

Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. Mostly cloudy in the morning with scattered thunderstorms developing later in the day and a high temperature of 83 degrees.
  2. Theater Fun has begun at the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave. with five sessions (from July 8 to August 7) meeting three mornings a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30-12). Learn many aspects of theater work, from character development to props, scenery and make-up. Call 434-2453 for more information.
  3. The Bread of Life food pantry is open from 5 - 7 PM on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. It is housed at Newman Congregational Church, 100 Newman Ave.
  4. Bring your kids to Weaver Library to build LEGOs along side other children with from 2 to 3 pm; the LEGOs will be provided.
  5. Have you discovered the museum passes available at the Weaver library for some summer fun, such as Battleship Cove, Southwick’s Zoo, Old Sturbridge Village and The Hall of Patriot Place.
