Chilling in East Providence: Digging Out

Roads in East Providence were drive-able, with care, Friday after the storm, and locals were out in force shoveling the snow or playing in it, or both.

On Cobb Street, as with most streets in the city today, a thin layer of snow remained on the cleared road. A little further down on Potter Street, Scott O'Neil was busy clearing his sidewalk with a snowblower, bundled up against the elements. On Freeborn Avenue, Joe Boloselovo was doing it the old-fashioned way with a shovel.

On Roger Williams Avenue, four young men were out shoveling driveways for hire, and business was good. "Very good," said Jordan Gibson, who was out with Anthony Wilcox, Dante Williams and Garrett Gibson. They'd been sledding earlier in the day, he said.

Have a look at these scenes of East Providence citizens digging out after the snowstorm, and check back tomorrow for a sledding gallery.
