Candidates Forum: The League of Women Voters of Rhode Island announces its 2012 forums for East Providence candidates for State Representatives, East Providence City Council and School Board. This forum, for candidates in Wards 3 & 4 and Districts 63, 65 and 66, will be held Wednesday at the Riverside Congregational Church at 15 Oak Avenue in Riverside from 6 to 8 p.m.
5K Road Race: The East Providence Firefighters’ seventh annual Freaky 5k Road Race is set for Sunday morning, October 21st, at 10 a.m. on and around the streets of the department’s Station No. 3 in the Rumford section of the city. Entry fee is $22 the day of the race. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Sunday. With its association to Halloween, tasteful costumes of all kinds can be worn by participants.
