How Would You Spend Your Last Day in Newport?

With the countdown to the Mayan apocalypse underway, we're asking - how would you spend your last day in Newport?

We're pretty sure that the world isn't going to end on Dec. 21.

But with all this hubbub over the Mayan 2012 prophecy, we have to ask: How would you spend your last day in Newport, if you knew the world was coming to an end?

Before you answer, we'd like you to pretend that depsite the looming apocalypse, all of Newport restaurants and hot spots remained open for business and the roads out of town were blocked off.

Would you stay at home with your family?

Would you head out one last time to order your favorite meal at a local restaurant?

Would you catch the last performance of your favorite local band?

If you are looking for something to do on the isalnd, Easton's Point Pub is holding an end of the world party with live music, free food and drink specials. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite deadly sin.

I would go out for a sail on one of the 12 meter yachts and enjoy Narragansett Bay.

Just like the day after the election, I would just drink and think to myself WHY? WHY? WHY? Probably on a bench overlooking the harbor or Narragansett Bay.
