Providence-based author Ann Hood returns to Weaver Library in East Providence on Monday, April 1, to talk about her new book, 'The Obituary Writer'.

An acclaimed Rhode Island author returns to East Providence on Monday, April 1, with her new book in hand.

Ann Hood will visit Weaver Library with "The Obituary Writer." Her visit starts at 7 pm.

Hood is viewed as one of the most interesting, personable, and charming authors who always engages her audience in a great conversation, according to the library website.

Her books are numerous, and many will be available for purchase and signing at the visit, according to the library.

Among her best-selling books: "The Red Thread," "The Knitting Circle," "Somewhere Off the Coast of Maine," and "Comfort: A Journey Through Grief." The latter shares her personal story of losing her 5-year-old daughter in 2002. It was a New York Times Editor's Choice and was named among the top 10 non-fiction books of 2008.
