Summer Concert Series Opens at Rose Larisa Park

The East Providence summer concert series opens tonight, June 27, in Rose Larisa Memorial Park at the end of Bullocks Point Avenue in Riverside. It starts at 6 pm.

Six free concerts are scheduled this summer -- weather permitting. All the concerts run from 6 to 7:30 pm in the bandshell.

Gina Wesley and DreamCatcher return to open the 2013 summer season today. The band’s performance in the park is sponsored by East Providence Heritage Days Inc.

The band plays R&B, Motown and jazz. It has performed previously at the annual Heritage Days event and at numerous venues in East Providence. See the video for a taste of their music.

Bring your own chair and blanket to the park, which overlooks upper Narragansett Bay and the Crescent Park Carousel across the street. Expect to catch a summer breeze off the water.

  • July 25 – Kicking Hole (donated performance)
  • Aug. 1 – Sh-Bop (East Providence Heritage Days)
  • Aug. 8 – Swinglane Orchestra (East Providence Heritage Days)
  • Aug. 15 – Pier 6 (donated performance)
