Cicilline Cites E.P. Company as 'Great Story of R.I. Manufacturing'

RI Congressman tours Gripnail Fastening on Dexter Road on Wednesday afternoon as part of his 'Congress at Your Company' visit.

Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-R.I.) cited an East Providence manufacturing company on Wednesday, Aug. 7, as “the kind of great story of Rhode Island manufacturing that we need to continue to promote.”

Cicilline made the comment on a visit to Gripnail Fastening Systems on Dexter Road, according to the East Providence Post. His visit was part of his “Congress at Your Company” tour.

Cicilline met with Gripnail CEO Chris Ryding of East Providence. The congressman then met employees, who own the company, during a tour of the facility.

“This is a great example of a Rhode Island company that grew out of innovation and design of a product that was needed in the marketplace that is now producing it here in East Providence and selling it all over the world,” Cicilline said.

“This is exactly the kind of company that we want to grow in Rhode Island. And what we have to continue to do is fight for polices in Washington that will help companies like Gripnail grow and add to the number of employees. And to get rid of policies in Washington that are undermining companies like this.
