Vote for Nelson Almeida

Nelson Almeida is a man with no ties to certain current selectmen.

There is one candidate for Seekonk Board of Selectmen who has been attending all the Wednesday night selectmen meetings. He has accepted every invitation extended by any group of voters who wants to hear his views on important topics even though his opponent rarely attends. He has attended and offered opinions at other committee meetings such as the planning board and the zoning board of appeals.

Do you want an interested, dedicated and dependable person to be your next selectman? One who is "his own man" with no ties to the some of the present members of the Board of Selectmen.

Then cast your vote on Sept. 24 for Nelson Almeida.

Many municipalities are reluctant to hand over the key to the city to someone they know so little of. The town was quick to appoint him to one of the town's boards (Conservation? Recreation?), but the BOS is another kettle of fish. That being said, the election is this Monday and we will be happy with whoever the majority of voters decide on. At least for a while.

A bunch of guys who love a good fight - is that who we want at the helm of Seekonk? Wasting their energy strutting around trying to get their own way? I'd love to see more diversity and a more conciliatory tone.

I agree and I will vote for any girl that runs against Cavaco.

What is the business. Is it in Seekonk? Run from his house? If it is there should be a DBA on file at the town hall. Does any body know anything about what kind of business he has or where it is located?

I do want to thank Nelson for running. Regardless of the outcome he committed himself to contributing to his community in a position that takes a lot of time out of a persons life. Like the associates of Mr. Buckley, my vote will be cast not for who knows the candidate or endorses the candidate, but will solely be based on who I feel can perform the best on the BOS. You have to separate all of the noise out there and look at the candidate on their own. Who will do the right thing? Who will be fiscally responsible and keep my taxes manageable? Who can bring a solid idea that will better our community to the table? These are the things I will consider Monday before I cast my vote.
