5 Things to Know About This Weekend

Here are five things you should know today and over the weekend in East Providence.

1. Today will see lots of rain and wind with temperatures moving up and into the low 50s. Winds could gust over 50 mph.
2. It’s teen pickup basketball night at the East Providence Recreation Center, 100 Bullocks Point Ave. Team chosen starting at 7 pm.
3. Listen to stories, sing and dance to songs, and create a craft during a story time for kids ages 2-6 at the Weaver Library on Grove Avenue on Saturday at 10 am. 
4. Love to sing? American Legion Post #10, 830 Willett Ave. in Riverside, hosts a karaoke night on Saturday starting at 9.
5. Mark your calendar: The East Providence libraries will be closing at noon on Monday Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, and will be closed on Tuesday Dec. 25, Christmas Day. They will reopen on Wednesday morning at normal hours.
