5 Things to Know About This Weekend

Some snow; teen pickup basketball; free tax help; story time; Sunday hours at library.

Here are five things you should know about this weekend starting tonight in and around East Providence:

  1. Some snow or a snow and rain mix is expected to fall again this weekend, starting Saturday evening and continuing into Sunday morning. Projected accumulations were still a bit uncertain this morning.
  2. The East Providence recreation department hosts a teen (13-17) pickup basketball night each Friday at 7 pm at the recreation center, 100 Bullocks Point Ave. Call 433-6360 to register. 
  3. The East Bay Community Action Program, 100 Bullocks Point Ave., offers free tax assistance on Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm.
  4. Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., offers a story time for kids ages 2-6 every Saturday at 10 am. No need to preregister; just walk in.
  5. If you don't know by now, the Weaver Library has resumed Sunday hours: from 1 to 5 pm.
