Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence.
- Nasty weather is forecast for this morning. Wind-driven rain will let up in the afternoon with a high in the upper 40s. Winds will blow from 20 to 30 mph in the morning before dipping to 10 to 20 mph.
- The East Providence Recreation Department offers a babysitters’ certification course from 9 to 3 pm at the Recreation Center, 100 Bullocks Point Ave.
- Enjoy an animal experience with Dave Marchetti, who will introduce children to his animal friends at the Weaver Library today from 10 to 11 am. Meet and touch a chinchilla, snakes, tree frogs, a hedgehog, turtles, and more.
- It’s karaoke night at the Lincoln Bar & Grille, 24 Monroe Ave., Riverside, with Dj Big Bill of Big Bill Entertainment.
- Mark your calendar today: Your trash and recyclables will be collected on Saturday this week if your normal pickup day is a Tuesday – New Year’s Day next week.
