5 Things to Know About Today

Mostly sunny; children's author at story time; Teen Thursday; VITA tax service; 'stretch' class.

Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. No messy winter mix today; it will be mostly sunny early and then clouds will move in later today, with temperatures around 40 degrees.
  2. Children’s author Kelly Martin shares her book, My Name is Broccoli, at a 10 am story time at Weaver Library on Grove Avenue. 
  3. Every Thursday after school is “Teen Thursday” at Weaver Library; there are laptops, music, Wii, games, and crafts from 3 to 5 pm.
  4. East Bay Community Action's RSVP Program is sponsoring the VITA Free Tax Service until April 15. Program qualifying income is $51,000 and below. Call 435-7876 for an appointment, location and directions. 
  5. The East Providence Recreation Center, 100 Bullocks Point Ave., offers a stretch class from 5 to 6 pm. Fee is $5 per class. Register at 401-433-6360.
