Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. Periods of rain possibily over an inch with winds of  25 to 35 mph.
  2. This month's East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce business during hours lunchtime event will take place at B. Pinelli's Simply Italian Restaurant, 436 North Broadway.
  3. A support group for those who are caring for elderly loved ones meets at the East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Ave., at 10:30 am.
  4. East Bay Community Action's RSVP Program is sponsoring the VITA Free Tax Service through April 15. Program qualifying income is $51,000 and below. Call East Bay RSVP at 435-7876 for an appointment, location and directions.
  5. The Riverside branch library, 475 Bullocks Point Ave., hosts a Born to Read story time for children birth to 35 months at 10 am.
