5 Things to Know About Today

Rain forecast all day; Rotary Club meets; ballroom dancing; food pantry opens; pay overdue fines with food.

Here are five things you may want to know about for today, Dec. 17.

  1. A steady rain is forecast for the morning today with showers stretching into the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s with winds at 10 to 15 mph.
  2. The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club meets every Monday at 12:15 pm at Eleven Forty Nine East restaurant in Seekonk. 
  3. The East Providence Senior Center at 610 Waterman Ave. hosts a weekly ballroom dance class every Monday at 2 pm; relearn some old or learn some new moves. 
  4. The Fraternity of St. Francis Xavier food pantry at 81 North Carpenter St. is open every Monday at 9:30 am and 6 pm; families may visit once a month with a valid government ID.
  5. During the month of December at the East Providence libraries, you can pay your current overdue fines with a donation of non-perishable food to help out local food pantries.
