5 Things to Know About Today

Snow showers; Business After Hours; RSVP tax program; chess club; story time.

Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. Snow showers before noon again with skies becoming partly cloudy later today with temperatures reaching into the high 30s -- almost a repeat of yesterday.
  2. The East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a Business After Hours starting at 5:30 pm at Eleven Forty Nine restaurant in Seekonk, Mass.
  3. East Bay Community Action's RSVP Program is sponsoring the VITA Free Tax Service through April 15. Program qualifying income is $51,000 and below. Call East Bay RSVP at 435-7876 for an appointment, location and directions. 
  4. The Riverside Branch Library, 475 Bullocks Point Ave., hosts a chess club for children ages 6 to 18 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
  5. Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., hosts a story time for children ages 2 to 6 and their families from 6:30 to 7 pm in the program room; stories, songs and crafts.
