Grandparents' Day Tea

Grandparents' Day at the Museum
Where/When: Providence Children's Museum, 100 South St, Providence; Sunday, Sept. 11, 9-6 pm.
Why Go: Grams and Gramps will get in the museum for free all day Sunday. So spend the day exploring and learning and let them teach the kids a thing or two.
Pricing: Free for grandparents; regular admission applies for everyone else.
Stories on the Spectrum
Where/When: Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave, East Providence; Saturday, Sept. 10, 11 am.
Why Go: Fun stories and catchy songs geared to children ages 3 to 8 on the autistic spectrum.

Memorial Waterfire
Where/When: Waterplace Park & The Wall of Hope, 1 Finance Way, Providence; Saturday, Sept. 10, 6 pm.
Why Go: There will be a ceremony at the Wall of Hope to remember the local victims lost on 9/11 10 years ago. The ceremony will lead to the lighting of the Tenth Year Memorial Waterfire.

Tissue Paper Art
Where/When: Fuller Library, 260 Dover Ave, East Providence; Monday, Sept. 12, 3 to 5 pm.
Why Go: This is a cute craft for kids of all ages to keep the kids busy for a bit before dinner time.

9/11 Tenth Anniversary National Day of Service
Where/When: Gilbert Stuart Middle School, 188 Princeton Ave, Providence; Saturday, Sept. 10, 8:30 to 4:30 pm.
Why Go: Serve Rhode Island will sponsor this day of service to remember the lives lost on 9/11. There will be cleaning, painting and some outdoor cleanups. This is a great way to give back to the community in rememberance of this tragic event.

Pump Up the Volume Yoga & Zumba
Where/When: Wyatt Detention Center, 950 High St, Central Falls; Saturday, Sept. 10, 8:30 am
Why Go: Zumba is a great way to work out and kids LOVE it. It's fun and get to burn off some pounds for you and some energy for the kids. Yoga is at 8:30 am and Zumba starts at 9 am.
Pricing: Yoga is $2 and Zumba is $3 and kids dance for FREE. This is an awesome deal!
