This Weekend: Eat for a Good Cause; Fishing Opening Day

There's a lot going on around town this weekend, so be sure to check our Patch calendar of events for more listings.

 

  1. It should be a pretty good weekend, weather-wise. The next couple of days will be sunny and around 60 degrees, but showers may be on the way.
  2. Rise and shine! Saturday is The state Department of Environmental Management has stocked several freshwater ponds in the state, including Brickyard Pond in Barrington, and many others. For more information on sites and regulations, see www.dem.ri.gov. 
  3. Sunday's the big day for the Orlo Avenue School. Volunteers will gather to start building the new playground.
  4. A will be held Saturday, sponsored by the International Institute of RI.
  5. There are lots of chanches to eat for a good cause this weekend: A for "Al's Wheels," to help an EPHS student needing a wheelchair-accessible van, is Saturday at 6 pm.  The Lions Club Annual Pancake Breakfast is at the Senior Center on Sunday morning. Then Sunday afternoon a fundraiser will be held at the American Legion Hall for local and his donor.
