UPDATED: Thursday: National Day of Silence

Here are five things you should know today in East Providence.

 

  1. Today there will be scattered showers with a high of 53 degrees.
  2. There is a today at Riverside Library.  Pre-registration is required for this series.  Today's topic is "Learn how to apply to jobs online, upload your resume to online applications, and attach your resume and cover letter to an email."
  3. Today some of the students at East Providence High School will participate in the National Day of Silence. Students across the country take a vow of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual,and transgender) bullying and harassment in school. It is a silent protest and is the largest single student-led action towards creating safer schools for all.
  4. Last chance to !  Volunteers are at the Senior Center starting at 9 am.
  5. The "Truck Stop Chili" scheduled for tonight and tomorrow at 7 p.m. is postponed until further notice.
