Tuesday: School Committee Meets; Weaver Book Clubs

Here are five things you should know today in East Providence.

 

  1. Yesterday's sunny weather was short-lived. Today there's a chance of showers with a high of 61 degrees.
  2. The East Providence School Committee meets tonight at 6:30 pm. Here's what's on the agenda for the evening.
  3. The Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening book groups at Weaver meet today, to discuss Jamie Ford's Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. New members are always welcome.
  4. Kevin Robinson and the K-Rob Foundation are looking for student volunteers to help with the Second Annual "Ride with K-ROB Family Fun Festival on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Carousel in Riverside. High School students can earn community service hours and should contact Mr Messier or Ms. Medina.
  5. The Senior Center has a social worker available through the East Bay Center twice a month, to answer questions and help with social service needs. Did you know we have a new social worker through East Bay Center? Michael Friend, LICSW, is available today and also May 22, from 9 am to noon.  Call for an appointment: 435-7870.
