What's Open, What's Closed Today?

All government offices, schools and libraries are closed today for the observance of Veterans Day; most businesses are open.

Today is the federal observance of Veterans Day, a federal holiday that recognizes the nation's service men and women. 

All federal, state and East Providence government buildings and offices are closed today. There will be no mail service.

East Providence schools and libraries are closed, as well.

Check your schedule for trash pickup this week. Usually, when a holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday, trash pickup is the previous Saturday. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday pickups are delayed one day.

Most restaurant and stores will be open their regular hours today, but you might want to call ahead. Banks vary, but most are closed.

For those who follow the stock market, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is open today. Veterans Day is not one of the nine holidays observed by NYSE.
