What's Your Holiday Flick Pick?

The list often appears endless. But some movies just stand head and shoulder above others.

Okay, let's try this again this year.

I'm a junkie for "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." It's my favorite holiday movie ever. I watch it at least once every year.

Clark Griswold. Cousin Eddy. Todd and Margo. Aunt Bethany.  Audrey and Rusty. I start to laugh just thinking about the movie, which I've watched a zillion times.

I've got several DVDs. But I still watch it on TV, too.

You must have a favorite holiday movie: "A Christmas Story." "It's A Wonderful Life." "Miracle on 34th Street." Others.

I don't really have a favorite Xmas flick. There are many very good classic ones like "The MIracle on 34th Street" with a young pre-teen Natalie Wood. But one I never want to see again is "It's a Wonderful Life". Don't get me wrong it's a great movie but a number of years ago for at least 2 weeks before Xmas that film was shown several times every day & a number of those times at the same time on different networks. I got kinda sick of it. After tons of complaints it's now only shown maybe twice.

I'll take the Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot, range model air rifle with a compass in the stock.- aka - Christmas Story.

There are a ton of traditional Xmas movies out there. The Griswold Family Xmas movie, while very popular, has been played to death. There is an absence in these types of films being made today. Perhaps it has to do with Hollywood's use of computer animation which I find boring. Unfortunately, until there is a new crop of actors of the mindset of Chevy Chase, or John Balushi (I know I have a mis-spell there) , you will continue to see recycled movies. I just wonder where all the comics have gone that don't swear?

Have to agree bear401 "The MIracle on 34th Street" orignal is one of the best and a must in black and white. I don't care for the colorized version though I own them both. The dutch speaking scene is so cool for me. Also quite watching it's a wonderful life for a while. I hate when they run them 24 hours a day, it take away the memories of seeing it and thinking about it rather than seeing it advertised forever lol.
