Great Taste of Summer Restaurant Week and Kick Off Party

The East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Great Taste of Summer Restaurant Week from August 16-24. This celebration of summer in the City and great food in the area begins with a Kick-Off Party on the East Providence waterfront.

The newly renovated, Old Oyster House Marina on Water Street will be the location for the kick-off party on Friday, August 16.  The party is open to the public and will include dinner, celebrity guest, Chef Frank Terranova, music, dancing and trivia game entertainment by WRIK Entertainment.

The Old Oyster House Marina is under new ownership and has been completely renovated with a new interior, windows, air conditioning and heating,  an outdoor deck, landscaping and much more.

Laura McNamara, executive director of the Chamber, said:  “We are thrilled to be one of the first groups to host an event at this beautiful venue on the East Providence waterfront. The new section of Waterfront Drive is complete and people will be able to see the redevelopment and future of this valuable area when they come to the party. The Chamber’s Great Taste of Summer Restaurant Week is a way to promote the many food venues and restaurants that provide great food and entertainment in our community.”

Restaurants and food venues are invited to participate in Restaurant Week which runs August 16 – 24. They will be featured on the Great Taste of Summer Web site with their special offers.
