November Newport Gallery Night

As the holiday season comes closer, it’s a great time to start looking at local galleries for one-of-a-kind gift ideas for friends and family. On Thursday, November 14, 2013, the Newport Gallery Organization invites the Newport community to participate in Newport Galleries Night from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm to see the latest artwork by local painters, photographers, and contemporary artists.

Several exhibits will be on view during November Newport Gallery Night: Spring Bull Gallery will be hosting “From Classical Realism to Abstract,” an exhibit featuring local artists, through Saturday, November 30, 2013; DeBlois Gallery will be hosting 2-D and 3-D pieces in their “Small Works Show” through Friday, November 22, 2013; and the Redwood Library and Athenaeum will continue to show their commemorative exhibition in honor of the Touro Synagogue - Newport, RI’s 250th anniversary located in the Rovensky Delivery Room. Onne van der Wal Nautical Photography will have copies of Onne van der Wal’s newly published coffee table book, Sailing (Rizzoli), available for sale.

After visiting any of the participating galleries, museums, and cultural institutions, make a night of it by picking up a restaurant discount coupon and stopping by one of the participating restaurants for a special! Free parking is available at the Gateway Visitors Center and uptown at the Newport Art Museum.
