Gain Tax Preparation Skills that Can Lead to Seasonal Employment in the Tax Industry

(East Providence, RI)  Liberty Tax invites the public to a Tax School Open House on the Thursday evenings of August 29, September 5 and 12, to learn about our Fall Tax School.  

The average American worker may hold between five and seven different careers and jobs over the course of their working lives - according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Due to the uncertainties created by the “new economy”, many people desire to acquire new knowledge and skills that enable them to create a solid portfolio of marketable, income-generating capabilities that will last a lifetime.  

Liberty Tax’s intensive, 60-hour, ten-week Tax School helps students learn personal tax-savings strategies, as well as gain new skill sets that can lead to professional certification and employment opportunities.  Students will also learn to overcome one of life’s greatest fears – preparing taxes - while working in an industry that is truly “Made in America”.   The three Open Houses will be held at the Liberty Tax office at 2775 Pawtucket Avenue, in East Providence.

“We invite all of our neighbors in the East Providence area to learn about our Tax School.  The main requirements for success in Tax School are computer literacy, combined with a real desire to learn about individual income tax preparation, an ability to apply the tax code to many different client situations, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service,” commented Paul Pliakas, owner of the Liberty Tax Service office in East Providence.  

No previous tax experience is required to enroll in Liberty’s Tax School. Liberty’s 10-week Tax School curriculum is designed to cover the fundamentals of basic income tax preparation.  Lessons cover the latest tax code changes, and the tax credits and forms that are filed with an individual tax return.  Class schedules are flexible, and Day and Evening sessions are now enrolling.
