THEY CHOSE ME, a musical about adoption, featuring four local, East Providence residents
Academy Players of Rhode Island present THEY CHOSE ME. Academy Players will be giving four performances of THEY CHOSE ME, a musical with music by Ned Paul Ginsburg, lyrics by Michael Colby.
THEY CHOSE ME is a musical spotlighting the subject of adoption, as seen through the eyes of children. In the course of the show, a group of adopted youngsters assemble to tell their stories - funny and poignant - to Sarah Cook, herself an adoptee. The show encompasses avariety of issues typically experienced by adopted children. Among them; foster homes, parental loss, gay adoption, and multi-cultural families.
The THEY CHOSE ME cast is made up of over 25 children from throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts and are between 5 and 16 years old. Among the cast are four children from East Providence; Lauren Vine, East Providence High School; Danielle Durfee, Riverside Middle School; Madison Durfee, Riverside Middle School; and Makena Petsch, Waddington Elementary School.

Performances will be November 15, 16, & 17 at North Providence High School Auditorium. Ticket prices range from $10.00 to $15.00. Reservations can be made by emailing AcademyPlayersRI@gmail.com.
