What's Open, Closed on Columbus Day?

Today is Columbus Day, Oct. 14, 2013.

The day is celebrated as a public holiday in East Providence, but not everybody is shutting down. For many businesses, in fact, it will be business as usual.

The East Providence libraries are closed as well. The Senior Center shuts its doors for the day, too.

Federal and state government offices are closed —there will be no mail delivery.

Some banks are closed. Retail stores and most restaurants are open.
