She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe.

April A. Machado, of East Providence, died on on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. She was 54.

She was the daughter of the late Alyce Brown Champlin Machado and Abel R. Machado, Sr.

She was a graduate of Hope High School and Arthur Angelo's School of Cosmetology, and later worked as a part-time hair stylist.

She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe -- the direct line of the Royal House of Canonicus.

She is survived by Daniel Machado and his wife Melissa of Warwick, daughters Erica and Mercedes Machado of East Providence, her son-inlaw Dennis Silva, her five grandchildren, Donavan, Brooklyn, Paris, Jayde and Benjamin, her brother, Michael, her sisters, Deirdre, Chandra, Angelita, Bella, Noela and Chastity and a host of nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Abel R. "Dino" Machado, Deon Walmsey and Lolita Machado.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 4 to 8 pm.
