Carol, A. (Lally) Goodwin: Retired East Providence Teacher

Carol, A. (Lally) Goodwin, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 in Sarasota, Florida. Carol was the beloved wife of John "Jack" Goodwin and daughter of the late Marie and George Lally of Milford, MA.

Carol taught in the East Providence School System for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. She was an alumni of UMass Amherst class of 1957 and received her Master's in Education from Rhode Island College in 1966. She enjoyed reading, water aerobics, directing amateur plays and crossword puzzles. She was an active member of both River Farms (West Warwick) and The Pointe (Sarasota, FL) Social Committees. 

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her two children John I. Goodwin of Dallas, TX and Tara A. McAuliffe and her husband Timothy of East Providence, as well as her two grandchildren Sierra and Jordan SantAnna. She also leaves a sister, Jeanine Mann of Burlington, Vermont.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10am in St. Brendan's Church, 60 Turner Ave., Riverside, with burial following at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4pm to 8pm in the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence.
