Denise (Currier) Gerard, 48, E.P. Graduate Was Champion Body Builder

She was the wife of Henry Gerard; she was living in Williamsburg, VA.

Denise (Currier) Gerard, of Williamsburg, VA, formerly of East Providence, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. She was 48.

She was the wife of Henry Gerard. Born Oct. 20, 1964, in Providence, she was a daughter of Dennis and Patricia (Souza) Currier.

She was a graduate of East Providence High School and received a fine arts degree from Rhode Island College. She was a national title holder with the International Federation of Body Builders and worked as a program director at Queens Lake Middle School Boys and Girls after-school club and summer program.

In addition to her husband and parents, she leaves her sister, Kelly Currier and her husband Brian Jaworek of East Providence; her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Ginny Gerard of Albuquerque, NM; and her sister-in-laws, Renee Gerard Reynolds of Albuquerque and Laura Gerard Johnson of Littleton, CO.

Her funeral will begin tomorrow, March 26, at 8:45 am from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Brendan's Church, 60 Turner Ave., Riverside. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, tax deductible memorial donations are requested to benefit Bipolar Disorder Research to the International Mental Health Research Organization (imhor.org).
