Deolinda deSousa Marques, 84: Born in Azores, Loving Grandmother

Deolinda deSousa Marques, 84, of So. Broadway, died peacefully surrounded by her family early Thursday morning, Jan. 16, 2014, according to Rebello Funeral Home

She was the wife of the late Joao deSousa Marques.

Born May 4, 1929, in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Caetano daRosa and Maria daGloria Sousa.

She leaves her children, Angelina deFrias of Warwick, Juliana Rosa of East Providence and John Marques of Cranston; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ezidro Rosa of Providence.

She was the grandmother of the late Joshua deSousa Rosa and the sister of the late Manuel and Joao Rosa, Ludevina Frias and Otilia Medeiros.

Her funeral will begin Monday at 9 a.m. from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
