Dorothy E. Turner, 71

Dorothy E. Turner, of Vineyard Avenue, East Providence, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was 71.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Virginia N. (White) Turner and the late Robert A. Turner. She leaves two daughters, Doliesha Hazard and Donella Turner; one sister, Beverly Turner Connor; one brother, Robert Turner III and seven grandchildren.

She was an administrative assistant at Brown University for 29 years. She was a graduate of Providence College, and enjoyed spending time with her family, sitting by the water, traveling and was an avid reader.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 11 am in St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 50 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the American Diabetes Association , 222 Richmond St., Providence, RI 02903. Arrangements are being handled by the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
