Frank Pimental, 87: WWII Army Vet, Retired from Carol Cable Company

Frank Pimental, 87, of Bentley Street, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at RI Hospital according to Rebello Funeral Home.

He was the beloved husband of Gloria (Fitta) Pimental. They were married for 65 years and were extremely devoted to one another.

Frank was born on June 2, 1926 in Rehoboth, MA, the son of Joseph C. and Maria (Coelho) Pimental.

Frank considered it a great honor to serve as head usher at St. Francis Xavier Church. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific with the US Army. He retired from the Carol Cable Company after 44 years.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by his sister Mary "Connie" Canario of East Providence and many nieces and nephews. Frank was blessed with many wonderful neighbors who helped him throughout the years. Frank was the brother of the late Manuel Costa, Joseph, Dominic, Augustine, Anthony and Arthur Pimental, Mary Faria, Margaret McMahon and Adeline Santos.

His funeral will begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Monday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Fraternity of St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 N. Carpenter St., East Providence, RI 02914.
